This unique prototype is the solution to a well-known problem of the Canon 16–35mm f2.8:

The lens has no mechanical hard stops, which often makes working with follow-focus motors imprecise and frustrating.

Our specially engineered focus ring fixes exactly that.

The ring features precisely integrated hard stops at both ends of the focus range. This makes the Canon 16–35mm f2.8 behave as if it had real mechanical stops—ideal for follow-focus motors.

Why this prototype is special

This ring was developed as a practical solution for professional productions and has been tested in real-world scenarios. Thanks to the hard stops, you can position and calibrate your follow-focus motor anywhere along the ring, and the motor will immediately recognize the exact limits—just like working with a true cine lens.
